A UK newspaper article (found via Slashdot) discusses a consumer revolt spurred via the internet. Apparently more and more people are using the web to gather enough pro-consumer force to make big business stop fucking them over, and it’s working pretty well. Of course, the customer is not always right, no matter what they say. Some customers are simply asshats. But in cases where a company is really being a jackass or charging unreasonable fees, ganging up on them like this can be a beautiful thing.
Speaking of which, one of the few blogs I read every single day is The Consumerist. It’s absolutely invaluable…try going through their archives and you’ll find a treasure trove of pro-consumer goodness. They even praise the companies who deserve it!
