Another Republican closet-case is forced to reveal his true colors (so to speak) in the most embarrassing way: being caught leaving a gay bar where queer men do homosexual things in the queeny company of other gay homosexuals. Oh, and he was driving drunk. So he’s repressed and stupid.
Assholes like this who publicly denounce homosexuality and work to limit the rights of gay people are a direct result of a fear and ignorance of “those people” which has been passed down through generations by people who simply don’t know better. It’s a disgrace, but also sad because his lie now affects his wife and four kids, not just him. Oh well, I can’t feel too sorry for the guy after what he’s done in office. Good riddance, jerkwad.
Republican state Sen. Roy Ashburn said Monday he is gay, ending days of speculation that began after his arrest last week for investigation of driving under the influence.
Ashburn, who consistently voted against gay rights measures during his 14 years in statewide office, came out in an interview with KERN radio in Bakersfield, the area he represents.
Ashburn said he felt compelled to address rumors that he had visited a gay nightclub near the Capitol before his DUI arrest.
